Bone Marrow Testing Drives are supported by SCCF through our help with funding and publicity. We are willing to assist, not just with our own children, but drives for both adults and children, and not just limited to our North Bay service area.

A bone marrow transplant is often the best possible treatment for patients with certain cancers, especially blood cancers such as the various types of leukemia’s and lymphomas. It is also sometimes a "last resort" treatment.

Testing is simple and easy. It is now done with a DNA swab from the mouth, instead of taking a blood sample. Your bone marrow will then be analyzed and entered into an international database registry. If you are selected as a match, there is no cost to you and the procedure, while surgical in nature, is fairly minor for the donor. The procedure will be done at a local hospital, then flown by special courier to the recipient.

Please join us in being tested and becoming part of the database.
YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO SAVE SOMEONE'S LIFE!
If you cannot attend a bone marrow testing drive, please call our partner Heart of America at (800) 366-6711 and ask for a testing kit to be mailed to you. Minorities and mixed races are especially needed because there are so few in the database.

Through the bone marrow testing drives that we have sponsored, SCCF has added more than 400 people to the registry database!
